“Why not start your own business”

The words came from my dad as I sat in the back seat of the car on a family road trip many years ago.

I rolled my eyes. Me? Run a company? The idea seemed insane. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, didn’t know a thing about business, and didn’t think I had anything to offer the world.

Fast-forward to my twenty-fifth birthday and the official launch of my marketing company, PUSH25. I still laugh at the idea of myself as an entrepreneur or a business owner. The inspiration came as I was working my first full time ‘adult’ job as the head of Marketing for a gas compressor company. If I could build websites for them, why not for others? Then the request came from a friend to redesign their site and I was terrified. This young entrepreneur had faith in my work, despite the fact I had nothing to show for myself.

Dozens of websites, thousands of photos, and a few hundred graphic designs later I built my business. As my business grew so did my life.

I graduated from Simon Fraser University in December 2015. By January I was living on my own in Chilliwack, BC- over an hour away from all my friends and family, working a job that was way over my head, and struggling to be an adult -something that university never taught me!

But who am I?

A lover of Coffee and Wine, Disney Enthusiast, and Traveller. I am an advocate for having a healthy lifestyle, following your passions, and believe in never saying no to opportunities. With degrees in Communications, English, and Creative Writing, I love using my skills and knowledge to help others make their visions a reality.

So here goes nothing (and everything)

Taking the jump to run my own company is scary. There is no one to rely on and no one to blame if things don’t happen the way they should. But, I can’t imagine doing this any other way.

Here’s to dozens more websites, hundreds of late work nights, and more than a few dozen cups of coffee and wine.
